Engineered for Serious Volume
Built for high-volume ICW, IAW, ACR, and more. Powered by SSI’s Dual-Shear technology and fully engineered and integrated by SWEED for serious processing.
The Challenge: Low-Grade Wire at Scale
Processing low-grade wire at high volume presents unique challenges:
- Inconsistent material streams
- Abrasive components that wear down equipment
- High waste ratios that impact recovery value
- Limited tolerance for downtime
- Pressure to maintain profitability at scale
Operations at this level require engineered stability, predictable throughput, and long-term durability. This is not a light-duty application.
20,000+ Lbs/Hr
A Complete System for Serious Wire Recovery
SWEED engineered this high-capacity system for demanding, high-volume processing of #2 low-grade insulated copper wire (ICW), insulated aluminum wire (IAW), aluminum copper radiators (ACR), and more. By integrating SSI’s Dual-Shear shredding technology with SWEED’s fully engineered downstream separation and recovery stages, SWEED delivers a complete processing line built for reliable, continuous operation. This is not a collection of components. It is a fully integrated system built to perform at scale.

Key System Components
High-Volume Bulk Intake
SSI Dual-Shear Shredder
A heavy-duty double-shaft shredder accepts large bales and bulky scrap, providing aggressive, high-torque size reduction at the front end. Built for tough material. Built for continuous feed.
Inline Linear Processing
CA8000 Smart Shear
The CA8000 Smart Shear cuts virtually any sized cable or wire rope to a predetermined length, then feeds inline with the system, sending material directly into the double-shaft shredder. This enables one line to handle both bulk scrap and linear material together.
Controlled Size Reduction
Single-Shaft Shredder
Ensures stable material sizing for consistent downstream performance and separation efficiency.
Light / Heavy Stream Split
Zigzag Aspirator
The Zigzag aspirators divide the material stream into two groups so each can be processed appropriately. Heavier material is captured while fines move downstream for further processing.
Selective Copper Liberation
Turbo Mills
Process #2 ICW and fine wire to liberate trapped copper from insulation. A built-in bypass allows material that does not require additional processing to skip this stage.
Residual Plastic Removal
Sifter System
Removes remaining plastic contamination while allowing copper shavings and fines to pass through, improving finished product quality.
Materials Processed
High-volume wire operations rarely deal with clean, uniform material. This system was engineered specifically for difficult, low-grade inputs where consistency cannot be assumed and recovery performance matters. This system is designed to process:
- #2 ICW: Low-grade insulated copper wire
- IAW: Insulated aluminum wire
- ACR: Aluminum copper radiator
- Linear cable bulky scrap
- And more
Built for Reliable Operation
At 20,000+ pounds per hour, downtime is not an inconvenience, it is a margin risk. High-volume processors require equipment that is engineered not just for output, but for durability, easy maintenance access, and long-term serviceability. This system is designed with:
- Heavy-duty structural components
- Service-accessible design
- Smart monitoring tools
- Automated controls for production tracking
- Strong aftersales support with domestic parts availability
