ACSR Requires Purpose-Built Processing Equipment
ACSR cable isn’t typical wire scrap. Aluminum strands are tightly wound around a steel core, which makes separation more complex and requires the right approach to size reduction and material separation.
- Liberation matters: Effective size reduction must break the aluminum strands free from the steel core, allowing aluminum and steel to separate efficiently downstream.
- Separation depends on material flow: Magnetic separation performs best when chopped material is properly sized and evenly spread.
- Bulk is the real test: Loose, tangled ACSR and the steel core it contains place heavy demands on processing equipment. Systems must be built to handle inconsistent feed and steel components while maintaining consistent separation.
