Straight-Out Unloader

Eliminate Veneer Overlapping to Reduce Splitting and Breakage.

The SWEED Straight-Out Unloader ensures a continuous and seamless transfer of veneer to the grading area by aligning the sheets and systematically discharging them before moisture detection. This versatile unloader is designed to seamlessly integrate into both existing and new veneer dryer setups. It works by repositioning each batch of veneer as it exits the dryer and then smoothly delivering it onto a belted apron.

This method of unloading guarantees a smooth flow to the grading area, reducing the risk of splitting or damaging the veneer. To prevent any overlap, a timed discharge system is employed, featuring SWEED’s recommended “first-in/first-out” programming and stop-gates on each deck to temporarily store sheets before unloading. The SWEED Straight-Out Unloader is a self-contained unit that operates independently of the dryer. Each deck is powered by motors with gear reduction, and the speed is adjusted based on the program stored in the customer’s PLC for precise control.

Our History

It all started with an imported gang saw. After WWII, three brothers from Germany migrated to the United States and built a sawmill on Galls Creek in Gold Hill, Oregon. Dissatisfied with the imported gang saw they were using, they decided they could make a better saw themselves.
