Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our Team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer you will be part of a team that drives innovation, conceptualizes solutions, designs systems, and tests equipment. Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure product quality, performance, and to exceed expectations. This is a full-time, onsite role and does not qualify for remote work.

Primary Duties

  • Conceptualize & Design: Design and test concepts to automate the customer’s specific processes. Troubleshoot and study all aspects of industrial equipment and execute assignments for multiple projects in a timely manner.
  • Drafting & Documentation: Draft and document our equipment and processes to ensure seamless manufacturability in our shop. Document operational intent and maintenance requirements for the end user.
  • Customer Support/Travel: Onsite customer visits for testing, commissioning, startup support and trouble shooting. This travel will constitute up to 15% of your role.
  • Research: Research and collaborate with suppliers and vendors to determine proper components for the application.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Live and breathe SWEED Core Values
  • Proficient in Solid Edge or similar application.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial design.
  • Experience solving complex problems with little to no supervision and on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team.
  • Mechanical installation/trouble shooting experience.

Background & Education

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, or related emphasis, from a 4-year accredited college or university.

Preferred

  • Experience in ERP systems, PLC/HMI control a plus.
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drive systems.

Special Requirements

  • Be able to work in a drug free environment.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and health screening, as well as random drug tests.
