Load Turners

C-Turner

Engineered Turning Solutions to Meet Unique Mill Challenges.

SWEED C-Turners offer a wide range of capabilities by clamping and turning loads up to 5,000 pounds, and dimensionally from 4′ to 5′ wide, and 10′ to 12′ long (as a standard). C-Turners make it practical to visually inspect and process two-sided material by virtue of unclamping a load in the 90-degree position, allowing for the removal of material with visible surface defects.

C-Turner jaws are air-driven and designed for firm clamping of the material. The forks are available with non-abrasive padding for loads with fragile surfaces. With clean air and electric power, you never need to worry about damaged material due to leaking hydraulic fluids. They also feature a fail-safe design that secures the load in the jaws of the turner, even if both the electric and air supply are interrupted. The C-frame opening is sized vertically to standard unit height and can eliminate the need for load clamping.

Customizations are available upon request for loads exceeding the aforementioned standard.

Our History

It all started with an imported gang saw. After WWII, three brothers from Germany migrated to the United States and built a sawmill on Galls Creek in Gold Hill, Oregon. Dissatisfied with the imported gang saw they were using, they decided they could make a better saw themselves.
