Master Cam Programmer

We are currently seeking to fill a full-time position in our shop for an experienced Master Cam Programmer. The right candidate will be a motivated and energetic team player with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and is eager and willing to contribute their knowledge base and skill set to our ever-growing line of innovative machinery. Must be reliable and be able to pass a pre-employment drug and health screening.

Primary Duties

  • Master Cam 2018. Proficient on Multi-axis Lathes, 3 and 4-axis Milling machines.

  • Sigmanest programming helpful (nesting flat patter work).

  • Document the entire set-up information and tool list for use of manufacturing of parts.

  • Write instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide set-up and operation of the machine.

  • Knowledge in set-up of CNC Mills and Lathes.

  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading / geometric tolerance interpretation.

  • Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures.

  • Provide support for fixture design as required.

  • Optimize the existing programs.

  • Possess a thorough understanding of the quality control procedures.

  • Provide shop floor support for the life of the program.

  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • 5 years of related experience in the use of manufacturing programming systems and CNC equipment, both programming and operation.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Experience and understanding in using shop inspection tools including: micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical machine drawings

  • Knowledge and experience in machining work, CNC mills and lathes, and manual mills and lathes.

  • Must be a good communicator to work and converse with Supervisor on fixturing and prototypes.

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision while meeting all product quality requirements.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way.

Special Requirements

  • Be able to work in a drug free environment.

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and health screening, as well as random drug tests.

  • This position requires membership in the Machinist Union
