Sweed has introduced a new Scrap Chopper for plastic strapping. The Sweed Model 450 WM (Wide Mouth) Turbo Chopper. This chopper is designed to take 4-8 plastic straps at a time and quickly chop them into 2” cut-lengths. The speed of this chopper is around 145 FPM, which works well for plastic strapping. The dual knife configuration will make quick work of plastic and PET strapping.

How it Works

Just introduce the material (banding) into the infeed funnel. The feedworks (pinch rolls) will then grab the material and pull it into the rotating knife path. The feedworks will continue to pull at a rate of 145 FPM until the material is consumed or the operator releases the feedworks via the release lever.
